School Admissions Policy

As a community school, Surrey County Council is the admission authority for Prior Heath Infant School. Details of the admission arrangements are available here: Determined admission arrangements – Surrey County Council (surreycc.gov.uk).

For information on how to apply, either as part of the normal intake or during the school year, please see information on school admissions on the Surrey County Council website at School admissions – Surrey County Council (surreycc.gov.uk).

September 2024 Admissions

If your child has been offered a Reception place at Prior Heath in September 2024, we look forward to welcoming you to our school.  We will be writing to you at the end of April with information about our induction arrangements and starting school in September.  In the meantime, if you should have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email: info@prior-heath.surrey.sch.uk or telephone 01276 25546.

September 2025 Admissions

If your child was born between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021 you will need to apply for a September 2025 Reception place in an infant or primary school between November 2024 and January 2025.  The quickest and easiest way to apply for a school place will be online via the  www.surreycc.gov.uk/admissions website.

During the autumn term 2024, we will be running “talk and tour” events for parents who have children that will be starting school in September 2025.  Dates for these events will be arranged in September 2024 and will be published here.  These sessions will be led by our Headteacher, Mrs Lindsey Chivers, who will give a talk about Prior Heath and this will be followed by a tour of the school and grounds with either Mrs Chivers or a member of our senior leadership team.  Each session will last for approximately 1 hour and will need to be booked in advance by email: info@prior-heath.surrey.sch.uk or telephone: 01276 25546.  As these are quite formal sessions, we do request that children are not brought along please.

If you would also like to complete and return our initial registration form (PDF, 223.58 kB),  we will add you to our admissions database.  Please note that this does not guarantee you a place at Prior Heath as Surrey County Council is our admissions authority.

If you should have any questions, please don’t hesitate to telephone: 01276 25546 or email: info@prior-heath.surrey.sch.uk.

In September 2020 we recorded a video of the school which can be viewed here:

Waiting List

As a community school, Surrey County Council manage our waiting list.  Your child’s name will be placed on the waiting list(s) of any Surrey community or voluntary controlled school which you listed as a higher preference on your application form.  They will make primary offers as places become available and if your child is eligible for an offer they will contact you.  Your child’s name will remain on the waiting list(s) until the end of the academic year.
