Reception
The Reception year is part of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This curriculum has a distinct identity for young children from birth to the end of the Reception year and is about developing key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentration, persistence and co-operation. It is also about developing communication, literacy and numeracy skills that will prepare children for Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum. In Reception we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework 2025 (PDF, 682.67 kB). The Progression of Skills for each learning area can be found within our Curriculum subject pages.
Information about our Year R curriculum can be found in our Year R Booklet 2025-26 (PDF, 247.83 kB) Should you require any further information about the Year R curriculum, please contact the school office on 01276 25546 or email [email protected].
