September 2020 Admissions:

If your child was born between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016 you will need to apply for a September 2020 primary school place between 4th November 2019 and 15th January 2020. The quickest and easiest way to apply for a school place is online. Visit the Surrey County Council website to access the application form and for more information on the application process and admission arrangements for Surrey schools.

During the Autumn Term we will be running “talk and tour” sessions with our Headteacher, Mrs Ellen McClelland. These are for small groups of parents who have children starting school in September 2020 and Mrs McClelland will give an in depth talk about the school followed by a tour of the school and grounds. We have particular dates set aside for these and they are restricted to small groups of parents so do need to be booked in advance.  As these are quite formal meetings which take about an hour, they are not suitable for children and are for parents only.  Please contact the school office on 01276 25546 for further information including available dates.

Children and parents are welcome to attend our Open Morning which will take place on Tuesday 8th October between 9.15am and 10.30am. This does not need to be booked in advance and parents and their children are free to look round the school and have refreshments with the PTA. Mrs McClelland and the office staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to meeting you.

Getting Ready for School

Surrey Family Information Service have produced a “Getting Ready for School (PDF, 776.42 kB)” booklet for families whose children are starting primary school.  This booklet containes information about:

  • Applying for school
  • Things to think about in the weeks before school
  • Childcare
  • At school
  • Time for parents/carers

Visiting the school:
Between September and January each year we run “talk and tour” sessions with our Headteacher, Mrs. Ellen McClelland. These are for small groups of prospective parents who have children starting school in the Reception year group the following September. Dates for these are set at the beginning of the school year in September and prospective parents are invited to contact the school office on 01276 25546 to make an appointment. We also hold an Open Morning during October which prospective parents and children are welcome to attend.

If you are considering sending your child to Prior Heath, you are invited to complete and return the school’s Initial Registration-Form.pdf (PDF, 130.07 kB). This expresses an interest but does not guarantee a place. It will ensure that we contact you during the Autumn Term of the school year before your child is due to start school with information from Surrey County Council about the application process for your child’s intake, together with information about visiting the school. We look forward to welcoming you to Prior Heath.
