Schools Alliance for Excellence (SAfE)

SAfE now provide Governor Services for maintained schools on behalf of Surrey County Council including purchasable training and development services which are offered to all Surrey schools and academies.  Further information can be found in the Governor area of their website: Schools Alliance for Excellence | Governance Support

Better Governor

Better Governor has been created for school governors by the team at Strictly Education 4S to provide up to date information and advice to all involved in governance including information about statutory regulations, Ofsted, the curriculum, finance, etc. They have also developed on-line Safer Recruitment training. Governors are free to register at https://www.bettergovernor.co.uk/  Hot Topics, Clerks’ Briefing and Chairs’ Forum webinars have recently been introduced.   Registration is free and simple (it typically takes less than four minutes) and, as Prior Heath have an SLA with Strictly Education 4S, governors will have access to all content, including webinars, podcasts, screencasts and videos. Better Governor researches, distils and summarises what is happening in education that is relevant to school governors and clerks.
